Full Throttle Switch - GLI/GTI

  1. Connect Test Harness (VW 1501) between vehicle harness and throttle switch lead. Turn ignition on. Connect voltmeter between terminal 3 of test harness and ground. Reading should show battery voltage with full throttle switch wide open. See Fig 1 .

  2. Using feeler gauge, measure switch-on point between throttle lever and full throttle stop while pushing throttle lever toward stop with screwdriver. Switch-on point for full throttle switch should be .03-.04" (.7-1.0 mm) before stop.
  3. If switch-on point is incorrect, loosen mounting screws for full throttle switch. Move switch until gap is correct. Throttle lever roller must contact edge of full throttle switch lever.
