Steering Column: Installation
CAUTION:
To provide increased occupant protection, the steering column is designed to disengage, and swing away, during frontal impact. Applying excessive pressure or impact to mainshaft during service may cause the column to disengage.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure front wheels point straight-ahead before tightening pinch bolt. Before fitting column switch unit, install spacer. See Fig 1 . Adjust both brake pedal and clutch pedal height.
