Universal Joint Shaft: Removal

  1. Remove pinch bolt connecting lower end of universal joint shaft with steering gear pinion shaft. Separate manual gearshift linkage from steering box.
  2. Remove nuts retaining steering gear box to frame. Pull box down to separate from lower universal joint. Remove rubber boot from lower universal joint.
  3. Remove pinch bolt connecting upper universal joint to steering shaft. Pull down joint and remove shaft with universal joints.
