Carburetor - Carter-Weber Single Bbl: Overhaul: Inspection
- Wash all parts in clean gasoline. Blow compressed air through small holes and hollows to remove dust and dirt. Do not use drills or wires to clean small passages.
- Check air horn casting for cracks or damage to mating surfaces and to threads. Also check wear on choke shaft and countershaft contact areas. Inspect choke valve, choke shaft, countershaft, float, needle valve and seat, filter, choke break diaphragm, choke coil, accelerator pump cam, modulation bushings and spring, and fast idle cam bushing for excessive wear, damage, deformation or rust.
- Inspect main body casting for cracks or damage to mating surfaces and threads. Check accelerating check balls, discharge weight, accelerating pump and metering rod springs for rust, wear and damage. Inspect main jet for thread or groove damage and wear on guide.
- Inspect low speed jet tube, accelerating pump diaphragm, seal and delivery hose for cracks or damage. Check lifter link and metering rod for wear.
- Check throttle flange casting for cracks, thread damage and wear of throttle valve shaft holes. Inspect throttle valve, shaft and idle mixture adjusting screw and spring.
