Choke Cam Index
NOTE:
Cam index adjustment must be made with engine at operating temperature.
- Set adjusting screw for fast idle speed on the fifth step of fast idle cam, with adjusting screw shoulder touching ramp of fourth step.
- Apply vacuum to pull-down diaphragm. Slowly push choke closed until increased resistance is felt, without changing position of adjusting screw.
- Gap of .005-.035" (.13-.89 mm) should be indicated between fast idle arm and fast idle cam. If necessary, adjust by bending fast idle arm. See Fig 1 .
