Turbocharger - Diesel: Description
On all models, the turbocharger is mounted directly to the exhaust manifold. The wastegate, which limits boost pressure, is a press fit into the turbocharger housing.
The other system components include: An intake manifold mounted blow-off valve to prevent excessive boost, a boost pressure fuel enrichment device, and an oil cooler. Engine modifications to ensure reliability include a piston cooling system (oil jet spray), and increased oil capacity.
