Choke Cam Index

NOTE: Cam index adjustment must be made with engine at operating temperature.
  1. Set adjusting screw for fast idle speed on the fifth step of fast idle cam, with adjusting screw shoulder touching ramp of fourth step.
  2. Apply vacuum to pull-down diaphragm. Slowly push choke closed until increased resistance is felt, without changing position of adjusting screw.
  3. A gap of .005-.035" (.13-.89 mm) should be indicated between fast idle arm and fast idle cam. If necessary, adjust by bending fast idle arm. See Fig 1 .
