Draining & Refilling

  1. Remove drain plug from oil pan and allow as much fluid to drain as possible. Remove oil pan and filter screen. Clean screen and air dry with compressed air. DO NOT  use cleaning rags to dry filter screen.
  2. Replace oil pan and screen using new gasket. Tighten oil pan bolts to 168 INCH lbs. (19 N.m) in a diagonal pattern. Wait 5 minutes for gasket to compress and retighten bolts. Repeat several times until bolts remain at proper torque value. DO NOT  over tighten.
  3. Fill transmission with 2.5 qts. (2.4L) of ATF fluid. Warm up transmission fluid and top-up to proper level, as in Fluid Level.
