Direct/Reverse Clutch Assembly: Disassembly
- Place direct/reverse clutch assembly on clean, flat surface. Using large screwdriver, pry out large outer circlip. Remove pressure plate, 3 internally splined fiber plates and 3 externally splined steel plates.
- Using hydraulic press with adapters and support plate, press clutch pack into drum enough to remove small circlip that retains spring retainer plate.
- Release press and remove spring retainer plate. With a twisting motion, remove clutch piston with springs (24) and spring plate. Remove seals from clutch piston and drum. See Fig 1

- Check drum bushing for excessive wear or damage and replace if necessary. Place clutch drum in press. Using bushing extractor/installer, support plates and receiver tool, drive bushing out of clutch drum.
