Oil Pump: Inspection

Check oil pump gear backlash. Clearance should be between 0.002 - 0.008" (0.05 - 0.20 mm). If specification is exceeded, replace gears or pump. Measure the oil pump gear end play. If end play exceeds 0.006" (0.15 mm), replace the pump.
