Engine Coolant Sensor

The engine coolant sensor (temperature sensor II) provides the ECU with engine temperature information relating to cold starting and warm-up enrichment operation. The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor which is sensitive in the lower temperature ranges. Electrical resistance of thermistor decreases as coolant temperature rises.
