Engine Cannot Be Started (Pump Inoperative)

  1. Cables to pump, pump relay or cables on pump relay are defective. Check if pump relay operates (switch ignition on and off, listen for clicking relay sounds).
  2. Pump relay has no voltage at terminal 86 (+12 volts), because main relay inoperative or cable defective. Test with voltmeter.
  3. Pump relay has +12 volts at terminal 86 but no ground at 85.
    NOTE: Relay operates only approximately 1 to 1 1/2 seconds after switching ignition on. Test with voltmeter. Relay is wired from ground via control unit.
