Tire Pressure Sensor Removal And Installation/Replacement And Learn Procedure

Special Tools Required: 

TPMS trigger tool (low frequency) ATEQ VT37 - no part number

Removal Procedure: 

The procedure for the left-hand component is identical to that for the right-hand side. 

1. Remove tire. Refer to TIRE REMOVAL AND REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

2. Remove screw (1).

   Torque: 1.25 Nm 

3. Remove tire pressure sensor (2).

4. Remove tire valve (1).

Installation Procedure: 

1. Install the valve and the sensor on the rim. If fitting a new sensor, ensure the new valve is also fitted.
2. Place the tire on the rim and inflate it. Refer to TIRE REMOVAL AND REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Install the wheels on the car. Do not tighten the wheel bolts yet.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fasten wheel nuts to 140 Nm.
6. TPMS calibration required. This learn procedure would need to be run.
   1. Whenever a sensor is replaced.
   2. If the BCM is replaced.
   3. If the BCM has lost communication with the TPMS sensor. Refer to TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM 

Learn Procedure:

1. Ensure all the wheels with tires are fitted with TPMS sensors and inflated to the correct tire pressure. Turn ignition on and enter Service icon from the MDU apps menu.

2. Tap on Tire Pressure menu.

3. Tap on Calibrate.

4. Once initiated, the BCM enters learn mode and the MHU will start flashing the front left indicator.
5. Use the TPMS learning tool (low frequency setter) ATEQ VT37 to trigger the front left TPMS sensor learn. Note, this must be done within 1 minute of the indicator beginning to flash. (This will be the ATEQ VT37 trigger tool)
6. MHU will stop flashing the front left indicator and start flashing rear left indicator. This indicates that the front left sensor learn was completed.

7. Repeat 4 through 5 for each remaining tire, sequence is:
   1. Front left
   2. Rear left
   3. Front right
   4. Rear right

8. All indicators will stop flashing and you should see all wheels indicated as green (if correct tire pressure).
9. If the learning tool is not triggered within 1 minute for any one of the sensors, the learn will fail.
