Removal [11/2015 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2015 - 06/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - ] ).
- If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM (Refer to REGISTRATION [11/2015 - ] ).
- REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2015 - 06/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2017 - ] ).
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
(Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - ] ).
- REMOVE INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6
- REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
- REMOVE ECM
- Push the locks on the 2 levers, then raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.NOTE:
After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.
- Remove the bolt and nut.
- Remove the ECM.
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the 4 screws, ECM cover and No. 2 ECM bracket.
- Push the locks on the 2 levers, then raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
