Section 48 (Engine Control System (Service Information)): ECM: Installation: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Toyota Prius V. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the ECM with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install the 2 wire harness clamps.
    3. Connect the 2 ECM connectors.
      1. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.

        NOTE:
        • When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not get caught between the connectors and other parts.
        • Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.
      2. Install the 2 wire harness clamps.
    4. Install the No. 2 engine room wire with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.3 N*m (85 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf) 

    5. Slide the side cover down and engage the 2 claws to install it.

    6. Slide the engine room wire harness down and engage the 2 claws to install it.

    7. Connect the 3 wire harness connectors.
    8. Install the No. 1 relay block cover.
  2. INSTALL INVERTER RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the inverter reserve tank assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
  5. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 53
  6. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 54
  7. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 56
  8. INSTALL NO. 1 DECK BOARD  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 55
  9. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 57
  10. PERFORM REGISTRATION 
    NOTE:

    The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be input into the replacement ECM. Refer to REGISTRATION .

  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:
    • Perform Initialization when replacing the ECM See step  9.
    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
