Exhaust Heat Recirculation System Circuit: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR - NO. 3 METER CIRCUIT PLATE (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY))
    1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for exhaust heat recirculation system) connector.
    2. Disconnect the No. 3 meter circuit plate (combination meter assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-2 (TWS3) - L27-16 (TWS3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-1 (E2) - L27-9 (E2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-2 (TWS3) or L27-16 (TWS3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR - NO. 3 METER CIRCUIT PLATE (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY))

    OK: Go to next step

  2. INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR EXHAUST HEAT RECIRCULATION SYSTEM)
    1. Inspect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for exhaust heat recirculation system). Refer to INSPECTION .

    NG → See step   3

    OK → See step   4

  3. REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR EXHAUST HEAT RECIRCULATION SYSTEM). Refer to  REMOVAL
  4. REPLACE NO. 3 METER CIRCUIT PLATE (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY
