Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Toyota Camry Solara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING Techstream 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Turn the Techstream main switch on.
    4. Enter the following menu items: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Check the CRUISE main indicator light by performing the ACTIVE TEST.

      Combination meter: 

      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Normal Condition
      CRUISE INDIC CRUISE main indicator light Indicator light BLINK / OFF -

      OK: 

      Indicator light comes on/goes off. 

    NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE ON Techstream 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Turn the Techstream main switch on.
    4. Enter the following menu items: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the CRUISE main indicator light.

      ECM (Cruise control): 

      ECM (CRUISE CONTROL) DATA LIST REFERENCE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      CCS INDICATOR M Cruise indicator signal (Main CPU) / ON or OFF ON: "CRUISE" on
      OFF: "CRUISE" off
      -

      OK: 

      When the cruise control main switch is operated, the display changes as shown above. 

    NG: REPLACE ECM 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
