Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
The vehicle is equipped with an SRS such as the airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the precautionary notice for the airbag system (see PRECAUTION
).
- INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the steering pad switch (see INSPECTION ).
OK: Steering pad switch is normal.
NG: REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK: Go TO NEXT STEP.
- Inspect the steering pad switch (see INSPECTION ).
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE - RADIO RECEIVER)
- Disconnect the E49 receiver connector.
- Disconnect the E7 cable connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition E49-7 (SW1) - E7-6 (AU1) Below 1 Ω E49-8 (SW2) - E7-5 (AU2) Below 1 Ω E49-6 (SWG) - E7-4 (EAU) Below 1 Ω E49-7 (SW1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher E49-8 (SW2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher E49-6 (SWG) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the cable connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the cable.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Specified Condition E7-4 (EAU) - 8 (EAU) Below 1 Ω E7-6 (AU1) - 10 (AU1) Below 1 Ω E7-5 (AU2) - 9 (AU2) Below 1 Ω
NG: REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT INSPECTION PROCEDURE SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
