Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Tundra and 2005 Toyota Tundra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Inspect AM1 M-fuse and ECU-IG fuse. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Remove the M-fuse from the engine room relay block.
    2. Remove the fuse from the driver side J/B.

    CHECK: 

    Check the continuity.

    OK: 

    Continuity 

    1. NG : Replace M-fuse and/or fuse. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  2. Inspect ignition switch. 

    CHECK: 

    Check the switch continuity.

    OK: 

    IGNITION SWITCH

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    LOCK - No continuity
    ACC 2 - 3 Continuity
    ON 2 - 3 - 4
    6 - 7
    Continuity
    START 1 - 2 - 4
    6 - 7 - 8
    Continuity
    1. NG : Replace ignition switch. 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  3. Check voltage between terminal IG of TVIP ECU and body ground. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Disconnect the T12 TVIP ECU connector.

    CHECK: 

    Check the voltage between the T12 TVIP ECU wire harness side connector and body ground.

    OK: 

    TERMINAL IG OF TVIP ECU AND BODY GROUND

    Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
    IG (T12-13) Below 1 Ω Body ground 10 - 14V
    1. NG : Repair or replace harness and connector. 
    2. OK : Replace TVIP ECU.
