Inspection Procedure

Check 

Check that stop light comes on when brake pedal is depressed, and turns off when brake pedal is released.

1. OK: Go to next step.
2. NG: Check STOP LIGHT SYSTEM .

Check 

1. See input signal check. See step  4 under PRECHECK.
2. Check the indicator light when the brake pedal is depressed.

OK: 

1. The indicator light goes off when the brake pedal is depressed  .

1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptom table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .
2. NG: Go to next step.

Preparation 

1. Remove the ECU with connectors still connected.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.

Check 

Measure voltage between terminal STP of cruise control ECU connector and body ground, when the brake pedal is depressed and released.

OK: See  Fig 2 and Fig 3  .

1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptom table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS .
2. NG: Go to next step.

1. OK: Check and replace cruise control ECU. See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE .
2. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
