Rear A/C Unit: Removal

- Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
- Charge system with refrigerant and inspect the leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount:
Dual A/C: 1050 +/- 50 g (37.03 +/- 1.76 oz.) .
- Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system .
- Drain engine coolant from radiator .
- Remove rear seat outer belt floor anchors .
- Remove back door scuff plate .
- Remove rear door scuff plate right side .
- Remove upper back door garnish .
- Remove rear window side garnish right side .
- Remove rear quarter trim panel right side .
- Remove quarter pillar garnish right side .
- Disconnect liquid and suction tubes

Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the both tubes.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in..lbf)
- Disconnect water hoses from heater pipes
:
- Grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the hose clip along the hose. See Fig 2.
- Disconnect the water hoses.
At the time of installation, please refer to the following items.
- Push the water hose onto the heater radiator pipe as far as second ridge on the pipe. See Fig 3.
- Install a hose clip the position as shown in the illustration.
- Remove rear A/C unit :

At the time of installation, please refer to the following.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to drain out all coolant.
CAUTION:
Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.
