Circuit Description

The front knock sensor is located on left side of cylinder block under intake manifold. Sensor generates voltage when engine block vibrates due to knocking. Code is set when there is an open or short in knock sensor circuit to ECM with engine speed between 1600-5200 RPM. Possible causes are:

Open or short in knock sensor circuit.
Knock sensor (loose).
ECM.
