Removal & Installation: Tercel: Installation
- Apply multipurpose grease to center hub of torque converter. Install one guide pin in threaded mounting pad of torque converter to aid in aligning torque converter.
- Torque converter is correctly installed if torque converter drive lugs are at least .53" (13.4 mm) below engine mating surface. See Figure. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation of transaxle.
- Tighten torque converter bolts to 13 ft. lbs. (18 N.m). Tighten transaxle-to-engine bolts to 47 ft. lbs. (64 N.m). Fill transaxle to proper capacity. Check and adjust throttle valve cable.
