Neutral/Start Switch Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1990 Toyota Camry and 1989 Toyota Camry. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Unplug switch connector at transmission or transaxle. Note terminal identification. See Fig 1. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity at specified terminals with gearshift in correct range. See NEUTRAL/START SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS  table.
