Contact Coil Cable Assembly Removal and Installation: Installation

Reference: CONTACT COIL CABLE ASSEMBLY INSPECTION 

Reference: CENTERING OF CONTACT COIL CABLE ASSEMBLY 

  1. Confirm that front wheels are in straight-ahead position.
  2. Confirm that the ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
  3. Install steering angle sensor to contact coil cable assembly as follows.
    • Fit large groove (1) of contact coil cable assembly (3) to large projection (2) of steering angle sensor (4) and fit small groove (1) to small projection (2).

  4. Install contact coil cable assembly (1) to steering column, see CENTERING OF CONTACT COIL CABLE ASSEMBLY .
    NOTE: New contact coil cable assembly is held at its center position with a lock pin (2). Remove this lock pin after installing contact coil cable assembly to steering column.

  5. Connect steering switch connector (1) and contact coil cable assembly connector (2) to contact coil cable assembly (3).
    NOTE: Make sure to lock contact coil cable assembly connector.
  6. Connect steering angle sensor connector (4).

  7. Install lighting & turn signal switch and wiper & washer switch, see LIGHTING AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION /WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install steering column lower cover (1) with screw (3) and tapping screws (2).
    CAUTION: Lead wires will be damaged if they get pinched when you install the covers. Make sure that there are no wires caught between the covers before securing the covers

  9. Install steering column upper cover (1) and column hole blind holder (2).

  10. Install steering wheel to steering column, see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
