DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "CVT System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to CVT SYSTEM CHECK .
DTC check 
  1. Check DTC related to CAN communication.

Is there any CAN-DTC(s) detected? 
Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC. Go to Step 3.
DTC check of ECM 
  1. Check DTC of ECM, see DTC CHECK .

Is there any DTC(s)? 
Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC. Go to Step 4.
Brake light switch check 
  1. Check brake light switch, see BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC, see Transmission Control Module (TCM) Removal and Installation . Replace brake light switch, see BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
