DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step Action YES NO
1  DTC check 
  1. Check DTC in ESP® control module, see DTC Table .

Is there any DTC(s) detected? 		 Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC. Go to Step 2.
2  Steering angle sensor calibration 
  1. Perform steering angle sensor calibration, SENSOR CALIBRATION OF ESP(R) .
  2. Check DTC in BCM.

Is DTC B1690 still detected? 		 Go to Step 3. End. (Incomplete calibration of steering angle sensor)
3  DTC recheck 
  1. Replace steering angle sensor, see STEERING ANGLE SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Check DTC in BCM.

Is DTC B1690 still detected? 		 Substitute a known-good BCM and recheck DTC. End. (Steering angle sensor was faulty)
