EVAP Canister On-Vehicle Inspection

WARNING:
Do not suck nozzles on EVAP canister.
Fuel vapor inside EVAP canister is harmful.
Fuel vapor inside EVAP canister is harmful.
- Check outside of EVAP canister visually.
- Disconnect suction pipe (1) from EVAP leak check module, see EVAP Canister Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect filler pipe (2) and purge pipe (3) from EVAP canister, see EVAP Canister Removal and Installation .
- Check EVAP canister and EVAP leak check module as assembly air leaks according to the following procedures:
- Plug purge port (1) and air port (2) using rubber plug.
- Install hose (3) and special tool (A) to filler pipe (4).

- Use special tool to apply specified vacuum pressure to EVAP canister and EVAP leak check module as assembly for one minute.

If any abnormality is found, replace EVAP canister and EVAP leak check module as assembly, see EVAP Canister Removal and Installation .
- Blow compressed air (2.0 kPa (0.02 kgf/cm2
, 0.29 psi, 0.02 bar)) into filler port (1). Air should flow with no resistance through purge port (2) and air port (3).
If any abnormality is found, replace EVAP canister and EVAP leak check module as assembly.
