Front Brake Pad Removal and Installation: Removal

Reference: FRONT BRAKE PAD ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

Hoist vehicle and remove front wheel.
Remove front brake caliper pin bolts (1).

Remove front brake caliper (1) from front brake caliper carrier (2).
NOTE:
- Hang removed front brake caliper (1) with a wire hook (4) to prevent brake flexible hose from bending, twisting excessively or being pulled.
- Do not operate brake pedal with brake pads removed.
Check for leakage of brake fluid when removing brake pads and repair brake caliper if leakage is found.
Remove brake pads (3) and pad springs (5) from front brake caliper carrier (2).
