DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
HO2S signal check 
  1. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF".
  2. Connect scan tool.
  3. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature and keep it at 2, 000 rpm. for 60 sec.
  4. Repeat racing engine (Depress and release accelerator pedal 5 to 6 times repeatedly to enrich and enlean A/F mixture).
  5. Check for HO2S output voltage displayed on scan tool.

Does HO2S output voltage indicates approx. 0 V for a few seconds, then approx. 0.7 V? 
Intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent, see INTERMITTENT CONNECTION AND POOR CONTACT INSPECTION . Go to Step 3.
Intake system and exhaust system for leakage check 
  1. Check intake system and exhaust system for leakage.

Are intake system and exhaust system in good condition? 
Go to Step 4. Repair or replace defective parts.
Fuel injectors and its circuit check 
  1. Check each fuel injectors and its circuit, see FUEL SYSTEM INSPECTION .

Is check result satisfactory? 
Go to Step 5. Repair or replace defective fuel injector or wire harness
HO2S heater check 
  1. Check heater resistance of HO2S, see A/F SENSOR AND HO2S REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Is HO2S heater in good condition? 
Go to Step 6. Replace HO2S.
A/F sensor check 
  1. Check for A/F sensor, see A/F SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

Is check result satisfactory? 
Go to Step 7. Replace A/F sensor.
Engine mechanical systems check 
  1. Check engine mechanical systems.

Are check result satisfactory? 
Go to Step 8. Repair or replace defective parts.
DTC recheck 
  1. Replace HO2S, see A/F SENSOR AND HO2S REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure and check DTC.

Is DTC P2096 and P2097 still detected? 
Replace ECM and recheck DTC, see ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . End.
