DTC Troubleshooting

NOTE: If the keyless start control module is one that was registered with another vehicle (used item), remote controllers cannot be registered. Always install a new keyless start control module when replacement is necessary.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step	Action	YES	NO
1	DTC check Check DTC in keyless start control module. Is DTC B1189 still detected?	Go to DTC B1189 .	Go to Step 2.
2	DTC recheck Confirm remote controller is in keyless engine start function operation area. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF". Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON". Recheck DTC. Is DTC P1644 still detected?	Go to Step 3.	End. (A possibility of taking out remote controller to outside of the operation area.)
3	Keyless start control module power supply and ground circuit check Check keyless start control module power supply and ground circuit, see INSPECTION OF KEYLESS START CONTROL MODULE AND ITS CIRCUITS Is it in good condition?	Go to Step 4.	Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4	ECM registration Perform "ECM Registration". Recheck DTC. Is DTC P1644 still detected?	Go to Step 5.	End. (ECM was not registered)
5	Remote controller registration Perform "Immobilizer Key Registration". Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF". Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON". Recheck DTC. Is DTC P1644 still detected?	Replace ECM and recheck DTC. Refer to ECM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION If DTC P1644 is still detected, replace keyless start control module and recheck DTC.	End. (Remote controller was not registered)
