LIGHTING SYSTEM SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS CHART

Condition	Possible Cause	Action
Only one low-beam headlight lights up	Blown fuse	Replace fuse and check for short circuit .
	Blown bulb	Replace bulb .
	Faulty wiring or ground	Repair wiring .
Both low-beam headlights do not light up	Faulty system circuit (including relays and fuses)	Refer to LIGHTING SYSTEM CIRCUIT DIAGRAM .
	Faulty lighting and turn signal switch	Refer to LIGHTING AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH INSPECTION .
	Blown bulbs	Replace bulbs if all above items are normal .
	Faulty wiring or ground	Repair wiring .
Only one high-beam headlight lights up	Blown fuse	Replace fuse and check for short circuit .
	Blown bulb	Replace bulb .
	Faulty wiring or ground	Repair wiring .
	Faulty DRL control module (if equipped)	Check system, see INSPECTION OF DRL CONTROL MODULE AND ITS CIRCUIT .

Auto-on headlight system malfunctions (if equipped)	Wrong initialization of rain/light sensor	Refer to RAIN/LIGHT SENSOR INITIALIZATION (IF EQUIPPED) .
	Faulty BCM	Refer to INSPECTION OF BCM AND ITS CIRCUITS .
	Faulty system circuit (including relays and fuses)	Refer to RAIN/LIGHT SENSOR INITIALIZATION (IF EQUIPPED) /LIGHTING SYSTEM CIRCUIT DIAGRAM .
	Faulty lighting and turn signal switch	Refer to LIGHTING AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH INSPECTION .
	Faulty rain/light sensor	Refer to SCAN TOOL DATA .
Fog lights do not light up (if equipped)	Faulty system circuit (including relays and fuses)	Replace circuit .
	Blown bulbs	Replace bulbs .
	Faulty fog light switch	Refer to FOG LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION (IF EQUIPPED) .
Dome light or spot light does not light up	Faulty BCM	Refer to INSPECTION OF BCM AND ITS CIRCUITS .
	Faulty system circuit (including relays and fuses)	Replace circuit .
