DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "CVT System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to CVT SYSTEM CHECK .
Stepper motor drive circuit check 
  1. Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C142", "E19" and "E20" connectors.
  4. If connections are OK, check the following points.
    • Resistance of "A1", "A2", "A3" and "A4" circuits: less than 1 Ω
    • Resistance of "A1", "A2", "A3" and "A4" circuits between "C142" connector and ground: infinity
    • Resistance between each of "A1", "A2", "A3" and "A4" circuit terminals and each terminal at "C142" connector: infinity
    • Voltage of "A1", "A2", "A3" and "A4" circuits: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition? 
Go to Step 3. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
Stepper motor check 
  1. Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "OFF".
  2. Disconnect "C142" connector (1).
  3. Check for proper terminal connection to "C142" connector.
  4. Check resistance of stepper motor circuit as follows.

    Stepper motor resistance: 

    Between terminals "1" and "15" of solenoid connector: Approx. 30 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) 

    Between terminals "13" and "14" of solenoid connector: Approx. 30 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) 

    Between terminal "1" of solenoid connector and transaxle: Approx. 15 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) 

    Between terminal "15" of solenoid connector and transaxle: Approx. 15 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) 

    Between terminal "13" of solenoid connector and transaxle: Approx. 15 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F) 

    Between terminal "14" of solenoid connector and transaxle: Approx. 15 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)

Are they in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good TCM and recheck DTC, see TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace stepper motor (valve body assembly), see VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
