Suspension Arm Removal and Installation: Installation

Reference: SUSPENSION ARM INSPECTION 

CAUTION: Suspension arm bolt and suspension arm nut are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. Never reuse bolt and nut. Otherwise, bolt and nut may loosen.
  1. Install suspension arm (3) using new suspension arm bolts (1) and suspension arm nut (2).

    Temporarily tighten suspension arm nut (2).

  2. Install suspension arm joint to steering knuckle.
  3. Install front drive shaft, see FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Tighten new suspension arm joint nut (1) to specified torque and install clip (2).

    Tightening torque 

    Suspension arm joint nut (a): 55 N.m (5.6 kg-m, 40.5 lbf-ft)

  5. Tighten drive shaft nut to specified torque, see FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Install front brake caliper and front brake rotor, see FRONT BRAKE DISC REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Install front wheel and tighten wheel nuts to specified torque, see WHEEL (WITH TIRE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Lower hoist and bounce vehicle body up and down several times to stabilize suspension and then tighten suspension arm bolts and suspension arm nut in this sequence to specified torques.

    Tightening torque 

    Suspension arm bolt (a): 98 N.m (10.0 kg-m, 72.5 lbf-ft) 

    Suspension arm nut (b): 98 N.m (10.0 kg-m, 72.5 lbf-ft)

  9. Check front wheel alignment, see FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT .
