DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "EPS System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to EPS System Check.
Rotation angle sensor circuit check 
  1. Confirm that the ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
  2. Disconnect P/S control module (rotation angle sensor/torque sensor) and rotation angle sensor connectors.
  3. Check for proper connection to P/S control module and rotation angle sensor terminals.
  4. Check "A1", "A2", "A3", "B1", "B2" and "B3" circuits between P/S control module and rotation angle sensor for broken wire and short to ground.

Are they in good condition? 
Go to Step 3. Repair or replace defective wire harness and recheck it.
Rotation angle sensor check 
  1. Check rotation angle sensor, see ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good P/S control module and recheck DTC, see P/S CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Replace rotation angle sensor (steering gear case assembly), see STEERING GEAR CASE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
