COMPLAINT

After a torque converter replacement engine rpm is abnormally high under all driving conditions, which may set a P0741 DTC. Unusual CVT noise and fluid contamination may also develop.

CAUSE

Longer, non-specification bolts are used when assembling the drive plate to the torque converter. The longer bolts come into contact with the housing, and deform the housing and bolt threads.

CORRECTION

Only use specified bolts when assembling the drive plate and torque converter.
