Input Shaft Disassembly and Reassembly: Disassembly

CAUTION:
Supporting the gear on the concave side of the puller can cause damage to the gear. Be sure to support the gear on the flat side of the puller.
- Remove circlip (1) using special tool.
Special Tool

- Remove input shaft right bearing (2) and left bearing (4) from input shaft (1) using bearing puller (3) and hydraulic press.
- Remove 6th gear spacer (1) and 6th gear (2) from input shaft (4) using puller (3) and hydraulic press.CAUTION: To avoid gear tooth from being damaged, support it at flat side of bearing puller.
- Remove 5th and 6th synchronizer sleeve & hub assembly (1) and 5th gear (2) using puller (3) and hydraulic press.
- Remove 5th gear needle bearing from input shaft.
- Remove 5th gear spacer according to the following procedure.
- Engage high speed synchronizer sleeve to 4th gear.
- Push down input shaft (1) a little using puller (2) and hydraulic press.
- Remove 5th gear spacer (1) using puller (2) and hydraulic press.
- Remove 4th gear, 4th gear synchronizer ring and 4th gear needle bearing from input shaft.
- Remove circlip (1) using special tool.

- Remove high speed synchronizer sleeve & hub assembly (1) and 3rd gear (2) from input shaft (4) using puller (3) and hydraulic press.CAUTION: To avoid gear tooth from being damaged, support it at flat side of bearing puller.
- Remove 3rd gear needle bearing from input shaft.
- Disassemble synchronizer sleeve & hub assembly.
