Gear Shift and Select Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove battery, battery tray with ECM and battery bracket, see BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Disconnect gear shift and gear select control cables from transaxle, see GEAR SHIFT CONTROL LEVER AND CABLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove gear shift interlock bolt (1) and gear shift locating spring (2).
  4. Remove gear shift & select shaft assembly (3).
