Steering Column Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove steering wheel, see Steering Wheel Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove contact coil cable assembly and steering angle sensor, see Contact Coil Cable Assembly Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove instrument panel undercover and steering column hole cover, see COMBINATION METER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove steering joint cover, see STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN COMPONENTS .
  5. Put matchmark (1) on joint (2) of steering lower shaft and pinion shaft (3).
  6. Remove lower joint bolt (4).
  7. Remove steering lower shaft.

  8. Remove steering column harness clamp (1) from bracket.
  9. Remove steering column rear nut (2) and steering column front nut (3).

  10. Remove steering column.
