Auto Steering Lock Unit Inspection

  1. Remove instrument panel undercover and steering column hole cover, see COMBINATION METER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Measure voltage between "1" - "4", "2" - "4", and "3" - "5" terminals.

    If check result is not as specified, replace auto steering lock unit, see Auto Steering Lock Unit Removal and Installation .

    Auto steering lock unit terminal voltage 

    AUTO STEERING LOCK UNIT TERMINAL VOLTAGE REFERENCE

    Terminal Normal voltage Condition
    1 10 - 14 V Ignition mode of keyless push start system is changed from "OFF" → "ACC" or "ON" → "OFF" (1)
    0 - 1 V Other than above condition
    2 10 - 14 V Ignition mode is changed from "OFF" → "ACC" or "ON" → "OFF" (1)
    1.2 V or less Other than above condition
    3 - -
    4 0 - 1 V Ignition mode of keyless push start system is in any position.
    5 0 - 1 V Ignition mode of keyless push start system is in any position.
    (1) Voltage can be checked for a short time by locking or releasing of auto steering lock unit.
