DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step Action YES NO
DTC check 
Is there any DTC(s) other than B1683? 
Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC. Go to Step 2.
DTC check 
  1. Check DTC in ESP® control module, see DTC Table .

Is there any DTC(s) detected? 
Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC. Go to Step 3.
DTC recheck 
  1. Replace steering angle sensor, see STEERING ANGLE SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
  2. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE  and then recheck DTC.

Is DTC B1683 still detected? 
Go to Step 4. End. (Steering angle sensor was faulty)
DTC recheck 
  1. Replace ESP® control module, see ESP(R) HYDRAULIC UNIT/CONTROL MODULE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE  and then recheck DTC.

Is DTC B1683 still detected? 
Substitute a known-good BCM and recheck DTC. End. (ESP® control module was faulty)
