Oil Pump Assembly Disassembly and Reassembly: Disassembly

  1. Remove oil pump sprocket referring to step  3) in "Removal" under Balancer Shaft Removal and Installation  .
  2. Loosen oil pump cover bolts (2) and remove oil pump cover (1).

  3. Remove outer rotor (1) and inner rotor (2).
    CAUTION: The outer rotor must be installed facing the same direction which it was when it was removed, so confirm the direction the matchmark (3) is facing.

  4. Remove relief valve (1) and spring (2) by removing retainer (3) from oil pump cover (4).
