Temperature Control Actuator Inspection

Reference: TEMPERATURE CONTROL ACTUATOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 

  1. Set arm to actuator and check if arm operates smoothly when battery voltage is conducted to terminals of actuator connector (1).

  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between "3" terminal and "5" terminal of actuator connector (1) at each arm position.

    Temperature control actuator resistance 

    Driver side 

    RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Arm position Resistance (25 °C (77 °F))
    MAX COOL [a] Approx. 0.62 kΩ
    MAX HOT [b] Approx. 5.38 kΩ

    Passenger side 

    RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Arm position Resistance (25 °C (77 °F))
    MAX COOL [a] Approx. 5.38 kΩ
    MAX HOT [b] Approx. 0.62 kΩ
  3. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between "4" terminal and "5" terminal.

    Temperature control actuator resistance (Total resistance) 

    6 kΩ (Driver side and passenger side)

If check result is not as specified, replace temperature control actuator.
