A/C Compressor Assembly Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant from A/C system referring to "RECOVERY " in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge  .
  2. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  3. Remove right side engine undercover.
  4. Remove accessory drive belt, see ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Disconnect magnet clutch connector (1).
  6. Disconnect suction hose (3) and discharge hose (4) from A/C compressor (2).
    CAUTION: Using caps, seal open fittings immediately to keep moisture and foreign matter out of the system.
  7. Remove A/C compressor mounting bolts (5), and then remove A/C compressor.
