Front Strut Assembly Removal and Installation: Removal

Hoist vehicle, allowing front suspension to hang free.
Remove front wheels, see WHEEL (WITH TIRE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
While holding ball stud of stabilizer bar joint (1) using hexagon wrench, remove stabilizer bar joint nut (2) and then remove stabilizer bar joint.
CAUTION: Do not cause scratch or any other damage to ball stud boot (3) of stabilizer bar joint.

Detach the following parts from strut bracket (5): brake hose (2) (by removing brake hose bolt (1)) and wheel speed sensor harness (3).
Remove strut bracket bolts and nuts.

Remove front fender cover, see FRONT FENDER COVER/COWL TOP GARNISH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove strut support nuts (1), then remove front strut assembly.
NOTE: Hold strut assembly by hand so that it will not fall off.
