Brake Pedal Assembly Removal and Installation: Installation

- Install brake pedal and clutch pedal assembly or brake pedal assembly, and install brake booster.
M/T model: Brake pedal and clutch pedal assembly
CVT model: Brake pedal assembly
- Tighten brake pedal bracket bolts (1) and brake booster nuts (2) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Brake pedal bracket bolt (a): 13 N.m (1.3 kg-m, 9.5 lbf-ft)
Brake booster nut (b): 13 N.m (1.3 kg-m, 9.5 lbf-ft)
- For CVT model, tighten brake pedal bracket nut (1) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Brake pedal bracket nut (c): 13 N.m (1.3 kg-m, 9.5 lbf-ft)
- Install accelerator pedal bracket, see ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY (INCORPORATING APP SENSOR) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Insert clevis pin (3) into hole in pedal and push rod clevis (1) from right side. Then install clip (2).
- For M/T model, connect clutch master cylinder, see CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install battery.
- Insert steering column, see STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install instrument panel, see INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Bleed air from brake system, see Air Bleeding of Brake System .
- Check brake pedal free height and play.
- Brake pedal free height: Brake Pedal Free Height Inspection
- Brake pedal play: Brake Pedal Play Inspection
- Adjust brake light switch, see Brake Light Switch Adjustment .
- Connect brake light switch connector.
- Check installed part for fluid leakage and make sure that brake system operates properly.
