Front Strut Assembly Removal and Installation: Installation
Reference: FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY CHECK
Install strut assembly by reversing removal procedure, noting the following instructions.
NOTE:
The strut bracket nuts and bolts are pre-coated with friction stabilizer. If the nuts and bolts are reused, it may work loose.
Never reuse the strut bracket nuts and bolts.
Never reuse the strut bracket nuts and bolts.
- Insert strut bracket bolts in such direction as shown in figure.
- Tighten all fasteners to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Strut bracket nut (a): 128 N.m (13.1 kgf-m, 94.5 lbf-ft)
Brake hose mounting bolt (c): 25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.0 lbf-ft)
Stabilizer joint nut (d): 60 N.m (6.0 kgf-m, 43.5 lbf-ft)
Front wheel speed sensor harness clamp bolt (e): 11 N.m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
- Lower hoist and vehicle in unloaded condition, tighten strut support nuts (b) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Strut support nut (b): 50 N.m (5.0 kgf-m, 36.5 lbf-ft)
NOTE:- If the brake hose is twisted when it is installed, the hose may get damaged. Install the brake hose carefully so as not to twist it.
- If the wheel speed sensor harness is twisted when it is installed, the harness may get damaged.
Install the wheel speed sensor harness carefully so as not to twist it.
NOTE: Insert strut bracket bolt from vehicle forward. - For headlight auto leveling model, install front height sensor. Refer to HEIGHT SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (IF EQUIPPED) .
- Tighten wheel nuts to specified torque. Refer to WHEEL (WITH TIRE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- For headlight auto leveling model, after installation, initialize headlight auto leveling system. Refer to INITIALIZATION OF HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM .
