DTC Troubleshooting

Step Action Yes No
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
EVAP leak check pressure sensor check 
  1. Check EVAP leak check pressure sensor for performance referring to "EVAP Leak Check Pressure Sensor (combine with BARO sensor) Inspection" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition? 
Go to Step 3. Replace EVAP leak check module.
EVAP system check 
  1. Check the following parts for clogging.
    • EVAP canister
    • EVAP canister air suction filter
    • EVAP passage
    • EVAP vent valve in EVAP leak check module

Are they in good condition? 
Go to Step 4. Clean, repair or replace defective parts.
EVAP leak check pressure sensor circuit check 
  1. Check EVAP leak check pressure sensor circuit referring to step 2 through 5 of DTC P2228: Barometric Pressure Circuit Low; P2229: Barometric Pressure Circuit High (EVAP-Leak-Check Model)  .

Is it in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
