EVAP Canister Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
  2. Hoist vehicle.
  3. Disconnect EVAP leak check module connector (1).
  4. Disconnect pipes (2).

    For quick joint of hoses, disconnect it as follows:

    1. Remove mud or rust around joint by blowing compressed air, and push joint fully in arrow direction.
    2. Disconnect hose joint while pushing both sides of joint to unlock it.
  5. Remove EVAP canister together with EVAP leak check module, EVAP canister air suction filter and its bracket (3).

  6. Remove air suction filter. Refer to EVAP Canister Air Suction Filter Removal and Installation .
  7. Remove EVAP leak check module cover.
  8. Remove EVAP canister with EVAP leak check module from its bracket.
  9. Disconnect hoses from EVAP leak check module and EVAP canister.
  10. Remove EVAP leak check module from EVAP canister.
