Front Disc Brake Caliper Removal and Installation: Installation

Reference: FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 

Reference: FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER CHECK 

  1. Install caliper to caliper carrier.
  2. Tighten caliper pin bolts to specified torque.
    NOTE: Make sure that boots are fit into groove securely.

    Tightening torque 

    Caliper pin bolt (a): 26 N.m (2.6 kg-m, 19.0 lbf-ft)

  3. Connect flexible hose (3) to caliper as shown in figure.
  4. Tighten flexible hose joint bolt to specified torque.

    Tightening torque 

    Flexible hose joint bolt (a): 23 N.m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 lbf-ft) 

    WARNING: If the flexible hose is not installed correctly, brake fluid may leak, which could lead to an accident. When installing the flexible hose, make sure that the mark (1) is directed toward the inside of the vehicle as indicated by the arrow (2). Make sure that the flexible hose is not twisted when tightening the joint bolt.
  5. Tighten bleeder plug to specified torque.

    Tightening torque 

    Bleeder plug (b): 9 N.m (0.9 kg-m, 6.5 lbf-ft)

  6. Install front wheel referring to WHEEL (WITH TIRE) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. After completing the installation, fill reservoir with brake fluid and bleed air from brake system referring to AIR BLEEDING OF BRAKE SYSTEM .
  8. Check every installed part for fluid leakage.
  9. Perform brake test and check fluid leakage.
